A language like markdown but has fewer and simpler rules, can be configured, and comes with auto-formatting (like go fmt or pretty). It is an attempt of a next step for markdown (https://johnmacfarlane.net/beyond-markdown.html). It has a lightweight core feature set but provides an escape hatch for teams that need more of those extra features through config.
