The single greatest thing government affiliated groups like USDS, 18f, etc could do to boost hiring is to stop requiring employees to move to DC.

Matt Cutts did a pretty decent job given the circumstances. I'm looking forward to Mina Hsiang bringing in a new wave of changes.

Slight correction: 18F does not require you to be in DC. They are 100% remote-first.
