I was surprised the shift away from small business job growth, but it does make sense. Large companies get large government handouts and do have advantages of scale. Of topic, but for about twenty years I preferred being a consultant but now I prefer working for corporations for a variety of reasons that are probably only interesting to myself.
I reached the same conclusion... Sales/Marketing/etc. were bad enough. But collections was a royal PITA. Much nicer to work thru a firm and not deal with all that. Bonus is I get better benefits.
