In the before times, I commuted to work by bike every day. So I'd check the forecast on weather.com. I learned over time that if the chance of precipitation for the day was >30%, I should bring my rain gear, otherwise I was probably okay. I live in New England, which means there's always a chance of getting caught out, but this worked pretty well.
