This is good news. Rising prices will bring competition that will ultimately reduce prices and increase performance.

Silicon is actually the least expensive part of a solar project. Installation plus the other parts are the real costs, easily over 50%. I hope more efficiency is brought to that part of solar power installations.

Short term it's a problem. Long term I think it's a plus.

Low energy prices encourage competition and innovation.

High energy prices encourage industry wide stagnation.

TLDR Polysilicon and semiconductor shortages.
