Would the simulations change if we put money into mining asteroids and building facilities near the asteroid belt and built hardware / space vessels that could automatically mine and move asteroids?
If we could detect problematic asteroids early enough, the nudge required to change their course would be minor, compared to what would be required closer to earth.
