Have the “industry” given up on the idea that a proof of space cc could use its disk space for something useful? Like what Filecoin promised.
I was hoping that since chia is related to the creator of bit torrent it would be a competitor to sia/filecoin too but it really doesn’t seem to be the case or even plan. I was amazed that there doesn’t seem to be a discussion on actually using this space. Chia is already using over one EXABYTE of storage just for proof of time space. Simply insane.
Maybe the problem is that what Filecoin envisions: A proof of space based distributed cryptocoin, where the space is offered as usable storage for end-users who pays the said crypto. Is not actually possible to make!?
