Never thought you could actually start planning your performance budget with something as small as favicons.
Developers are whining about the bundle size of their JS files, scratching their heads just to shave off a few kb here and there and, at the same time, some designer comes up with a half a MB Favicon and calls it a day.
Most of the companies in the "Hall of shame" section of that article probably spend substantial amounts on so called "site speed improvements". Just saying.
