You will meet plenty of passive aggressive people in your life. You have to learn to deal with them (which admittedly isn't always easy). This article feels like a vent by the author over dealing with this person. It probably encourages the person to make more passive aggressive remarks when they see their tweets got the rise out of him they wanted.
The only reason I am annoyed at this article is it seems to be trying to make some sort of commentary on social media. This isn't a social media problem (although SM might exacerbate it), it's a people problem. I wish you luck in figuring out how to better deal with this sort of thing, I have struggled with it too.
