I'm not sure if the scientists reading HN have an ELN that they LOVE, but it's probably not Benchling or SciNote or LabStep. I've tried these myself, and found them difficult to use for the kind of work I actually do.
We built a tool that integrates easily into the life of scientists www.presearch.co
Unlike competitor ELNs, we work directly with pen and paper, using QR codes and OCR, to digitize, transcribe, and categorize paper lab notes.
You can continue to take notes the way you're used to, then seamlessly transition online to collaborate with your team and other labs.
Would love to hear what y'all think. I'll be here to answer all of your questions and requests directly
Incredible idea! I think this has so many more applications than just for scientists. I can see this expanding as a tool built in to EMRs for doctors as well. I’m excited to see how this project develops.
Thanks @malston! We interviewed a few dozen scientists on their experience using ELNs, and came across this thesis. Glad to see that it resonates with you as well :)
