Nonsense, of course. Where I will agree is that I think there are vastly fewer researchers working on ground-breaking technology -- at least in Computer Science.

But that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

yeah, I think what OP tried to convey is how that was stated before first iphone (29 june 2007) which was without a doubt 'the next big thing'
