What’s y’all’s opinion on this?
Let me preface by admitting I am quite biased against MOOCs in the context of obtaining a degree so take this with a grain of salt...

With respect to an advanced degree, in general, your time is more valuable than the costs. That is certainly true for a quality MBA from an Ivy or say Bentley. So my initial reaction is "mehhh". I'm sure some/all of these courses might be fantastic but...

You don't end up with a degree from any regionally accredited university. This is not an MBA in any manner at all but a set of random courses cobbled together. You will be pushing water up hill to convince me as an employer that this is somehow equivalent. You will probably never convince a large HR department with static rules that you deserve to be recognized as having an MBA if one should be required for a promotion.

Perhaps more importantly though, you don't get to network "in person" with other like minded entrepreneurs thus missing out on the "old boys network". The "real" reason to get an MBA in my opinion.

I one hundred percent agree with you here. Who you know is definitely more important than who you are. What's your opinion of using MOOC's to simply gain knowledge?

I think that if your motivation is to gain knowledge and you have the discipline then online courses can be a great solution for you.
